Kwankwaso rewards Eaglets’ Muhammad, Bello with houses

Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso on Tuesday rewarded the two indigenes of the state in the Golden Eaglets squad, team captain Musa Muhammad and defender Bello Zaharradine, with houses, promising to name a street after them.

The governor also announced a package of N9.8m to the players, officials and the NFF officials attached to the team at the competition.

The governor, who hosted the team at the Kano Government House alongside Kano Pillars for wining a back-to-back Premier League title and the Kano Pillars Basketball team for winning the 2013 DStv Championship, said the Golden Eaglets were a source of pride to Africa.

Kwankwaso said the state was duty-bound to host the team since the captain, Muhammed, and Bello are indigenes of the state.

“The government and the sport-loving people of Kano State are very proud of the achievement of the Golden Eaglets for winning the World Cup for a record fourth time in the United Arab Emirates,” Kwankwaso said.

“In fact, our support and hosting of this team is significant because the captain and another important player of the team are from Kano State.”
