Snake Pastor Dies After His Snake Bit Him In Church

Jamie Coots, a Pentecostal church pastor and star of National Geographic’s reality show “Snake Salvation,” died Saturday night in his Kentucky home after being bitten on his right hand by one of his snakes.

The Middlesboro Police Department told WBIR that Coots was found dead in his home around 10 p.m. Saturday night after leaving his Middlesboro, K.Y., church, the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Jesus' Name, where he suffered a bite from a venomous snake during an evening church service.

Multiple sources report that when an ambulance crew and firefighters showed up at the pastor’s residence, Coots refused to be taken to the hospital for treatment of the snake bite. Coots was a member of a Pentecostal church whose followers practice snake handling and believe in faith healing.

A church in the US state of Virginia, White Tail Chapel, has taken the bizarre decision to allow its congregation attend church services naked. Cos according to their leader, Pastor Allen Parker, the clothing requirements of other churches were overly 'pretentious'. So he decided his own flock should be free to forgo such materialism if they desire.

Pastor Allen claims that many of the most important moments in the Bible happened while the protagonists were nude, including Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. Speaking to CNN, Mr Parker said:

Christmas Is Idolatrous And Unscriptural - Pastor Kumuyi

The General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F Kumuyi, has again warned members of the church against celebrating Christmas, saying the annual celebration of Christmas is idolatrous and unscriptural.

Kumuyi warned that partaking in the celebration made Christians to go back from the commandment of Jesus Christ.

The cleric said this on Saturday at the annual national December convention of the church, which held at the church’s camp ground in Ogun State.

He said, “We don’t celebrate Christmas. It actually came from idolatrous background. That is why you don’t hear us sing what they call Christmas carol. Never! We always say it is the December retreat. We are only gathering together because it is the holiday period and love the Lord more, and rededicate ourselves more.

“When you find anybody coming in, or any leader, trying to introduce the idolatry of mystery Babylon, that they call Christmas and you want to bring all the Christmas carol saying that is the day that Jesus was born, and you don’t find that in the Acts of the Apostles or in the early church, then you don’t find that in the church either. If you don’t know that before, now you know.”

He warned that any of the church’s leaders that tried to introduce the “idolatry of Christmas” into any section of the church would be sanctioned, while also encouraging other believers in Christ to jettison the celebration as part of their sacrifice to perfection.

The Pastor of the Household of God Church International, Chris Okotie, recently bought a Rolls Royce Coupe, the 2014 Bespoke Edition, to mark his 30 years as born-again Christian and 27 years as a pastor,SUNDAY PUNCHlearnt on Saturday. According Okotie’s close aide, the pastor spent N120m on the luxury car and had earlier spent N33m on a Range Rover Autobiography to mark a milestone of his church. CAC Liquidates 30 Wonder Banks, as Depositors May Lose N106bn

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced that it has filed for the liquidation of 30 out of the 400 Wonder Banks in which Nigerians invested over N106 billion, which may never be recovered.

The Registrar General of the CAC, Alhaji Bello Mahmud, last weekend in Abuja stated that at the end of the collation exercise, claims totaling over N106 billion were submitted against about 400 Wonder Banks.

He said the CAC has since been directed by the overseeing committee on the issue, made up of the EFCC, CBN, NDIC, SEC, SFU AND CAC, to file winding up petitions at the Federal High Court in respect of 30 out of the 400 wonder banks that accounted for 97 per cent of the total claims.

“The courts have already appointed liquidators for 28 out of the 30 wonder banks being wound up,” Mahmud noted.
