Man Successfully Sues Wife Over Ugly Children For $120,000

A Chinese man divorced and then sued his ex-wife for giving birth to what he called an extremely ugly baby girl, the Irish Times reported.Initially, Jian Feng accused his wife of infidelity, so sure that he could never father an unattractive child.

When a DNA test proved that the baby was his, Feng’s wife came clean on a little secret — before they met, she had undergone about $100,000 worth of cosmetic surgery in South Korea.Feng sued his ex-wife on the grounds of false pretenses, for not telling him about the plastic surgery and duping him into thinking she was beautiful, The Huffington Post reported.

The kicker? He won. A judge agreed with Feng’s argument and ordered his ex-wife to fork over $120,000.“I married my wife out of love, but as soon as we had our first daughter, we began having marital issues,” he told the Irish Times.

“Our daughter was incredibly ugly, to the point where it horrified me.?

Exercise may be the most effective weapon against aging

Keeping active may be the secret to staying young for both mice and men. Researchers from Canada’s McMaster University discovered that endurance exercise could halt the aging process in a group of mice, even though they were genetically engineered to age faster.

These furry creatures continued to exhibit the same youthful appearance as normal mice after engaging in a treadmill exercise routine over a period of several months. In addition, the exercise program prevented premature aging in almost every organ of the morphed mice. Details on the mighty mice can be found in the journal .

Raw honey is good, eat it!

This wonderfully rich golden liquid is the miraculous product of honey bees and a naturally delicious alternative to white sugar. It is available throughout the year. In addition to its reputation as nature’s nutritive sweetener, research also indicates that honey’s unique composition makes it useful as an antimicrobial agent and antioxidant.

The health benefits of honey — like all foods — depend on the quality of the honey. But in this case, the situation is even more extreme, because the pollen that collects on the bees’ legs as they move from plant to plant is only as healthful and as diverse as those plants.

In addition, the processing of honey often removes many of the phytonutrients found in raw honey as it exists in the hive. Raw honey, for example, contains small amounts of the same resins found in propolis. Propolis, sometimes called “bee glue,” is actually a complex mixture of resins and other substances that honeybees use to seal the hive and make it safe from bacteria and other micro-organisms. Honeybees make propolis by combining plant resins with their own secretions. However, substances like road tar have also been found in propolis. Bee keepers sometimes use special screens around the inside of the hive boxes to trap propolis, since bees will spread this substance around the honeycomb and seal cracks with the anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal resins.

The resins found in propolis only represent a small part of the phytonutrients found in propolis and honey, however. Other phytonutrients found both in honey and propolis have been shown to possess cancer-preventing and anti-tumour properties. These substances include caffeic acid methyl caffeate, phenylethyl caffeate, and phenylethyl dimethylcaffeate.

Cardiff sack Manager after fall-out with Malaysian owner

Malky Mackay was “relieved of his duties” as manager of Cardiff City Friday just 11 days after being told by the English Premier League club’s Malaysian owner Vincent Tan he must resign or be sacked.

A statement on the club’s official website confirmed the fate of the 42-year-old Scotsman, adding that a new first team manager would be appointed in due course.

The departure of Mackay was widely expected after his very public falling out with billionaire businessman Tan, who has had a controlling share in the Welsh club since 2010.

Tan sent Mackay an email on December 16, with the resign or be sacked ultimatum.

Christmas, a celebration like no other

It’s Christmas Day and I wish my dear readers happy celebration. It’s a season of love, sharing, caring, holidaying, indulgence and festivities. The Yuletide better known as the Christmas season is unique and special. Celebrated every year on December 25, the date is sacrosanct even though some theologians have come out to say that the birth of Jesus Christ which is celebrated on that day may have been miscalculated.

However, Christmas is peculiar in many respects. It is one celebration that is heralded by so much pageantry. The greetings during the season are special as people say to one another “Compliments of the season”, or “Yuletide” while the most common greeting style on the D-Day is Merry Christmas! During the season, churches (both orthodox and Pentecostal), government at all levels, schools, and many private and public institutions take turns to organise Christmas carols where choirs engage in rendition of well-composed and rehearsed songs in commemoration of the birth of Christ. From about November 25, which is a clear one month ahead of Christmas, branded gift items in celebration of the season are usually offered for sale.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO U ALL

I am dreaming of white Christmas, with every christmas card i write, May your days be merry and bright, and May all your christmases be white. Happy Christmas.

Genevieve Nnaji And Richard Mofe-damijo On POLO Luxury watche Advert

So, a few weeks ago while surfing the web, I stumbled upon a most riveting picture of Ms. Genevieve Nnaji and Mr. Richard Mofe-Damijo all smiles and holding hands at the Nollywood At 20 event that just recently passed a few weeks ago in Lagos. I was so happy because truth be told, these two icons have given us Nollywood followers some very good memories with films like Keeping Faith, Love, and Critical Decision, amongst others, yet, as time went on, they have become a rarity in films. Of course, this seems to have only increases their value exponentially, because as Luck would have it, Both RMD and Genevieve have landed ambassadorial deals as the faces of POLO Luxury watches. I was so enticed by the brilliance of these two icons on my computer screen that I barely noticed the other celebrities featured in the advert like Ojy Okpe, Eku Edewor and Ene Maya Lawani.

Foods That Benefits The Body, But Harm The Teeth

In the world of foods, a lot of weirdos apply. It turned out that many foods that benefit the body are harmful to the teeth. Here’s a list of some of such foods…

Milk: Nutritionists note that milk is a healthy source of calcium. Other top sources of this mineral are cheese, turnip greens, oranges, and broccoli; but milk not only has the most calcium, it’s also a great source of vitamin D, riboflavin, carotene, and retinol, among others. However, despite these numerous pluses, milk can wreak havoc on your teeth — that is if you take much milk while you are careless with oral hygiene! A dentist, Dr. Deola Olonilua, says the lactose (a form of sugar) in milk rots the teeth as much as frizzy drinks do. She warns that even though certain foods are healthy, the presence of certain elements or minerals in then can damage the teeth when the eater has prolonged exposure to such foods. She says, “Milk has a sugar in it called lactose. The lactose in milk can be especially dangerous for children if they have it just before bedtime. This is because the milk will still be on their teeth as they sleep, and the sugars are converted to acids by oral bacteria. The acids can coat the teeth and consequently eat away at the tooth enamel. That is one of the ways people develop cavities.” She advises that people should not hit the bed immediately after taking milk. Rather, she counsels, “You should rinse your mouth thoroughly after taking milk, or better still, brush your teeth as the last thing before bed.

Medicated soaps:More harmful than you think

Many people develop all sorts of skin issues when they use toilet soaps. From itching to outright blisters, the list is endless. For this category of people who usually complain of skin sensitivity, doctors sometimes advise them to use antibacterial soaps — commonly called medicated soaps.

There are people who simply can’t use any soap that is not antibacterial to bath. Consciously or unconsciously, they readily reach for antibacterial soaps whenever they are shopping for the home. And, in many cases, an entire family can be plugged on, so to say, to using strictly medicated soaps.

I miss Christmas with my family, Keshi cries

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has lamented missing his family at Christmas as the Super Eagles ‘B’ continue their camping towards the African Nations Championship.

The former Eagles captain cried out on Saturday that it would not be easy spending the Christmas Day in camp in preparation for the competition holding in South Africa between Jan. 11 and Feb. 1. He blamed the clash of the Nigerian football seasons with Christmas on poor planning.

Keshi, who is on N5m salary, said in Abuja that he would have loved to spend the holiday in the USA with his family, but that time would not permit him. According to him, the task of preparing the home-based Eagles for the CHAN had taken over his Christmas and New Year celebration.

Outstanding qualities you need as a manager

Being a good manager requires that you know and respect the abilities of the people under you and that you encourage them to excel. However, you must be willing to step in with a cool, dispassionate approach when there is trouble, ADEMOLA ALAWIYE writes

Almost anyone with company and job knowledge can become a good manager with time and practice. To be a great manager, you need sound approaches to leading and managing employees along with certain attributes that set you apart.

Managing people is not an easy task: the responsibilities are numerous. Supervisors readily admit that correcting flaws, optimising strengths and promoting commitment or motivating individuals are responsibilities that can overwhelm an individual. But considering the importance of a committed and motivated workforce, experts say managers must ensure that they surmount the challenges and get their jobs done. They explain that as difficult and unnerving as these responsibilities may appear, a manager can excel by continually seeking ways to improve his or her skills and coming up with clear expectations for employees, among other things. They say by taking the right things into consideration, supervisors will not only find their job easier, they will have fun doing it.

Managers are advised to consider the following tips in their quest to boost employee performance.

Christmas Is Idolatrous And Unscriptural - Pastor Kumuyi

The General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F Kumuyi, has again warned members of the church against celebrating Christmas, saying the annual celebration of Christmas is idolatrous and unscriptural.

Kumuyi warned that partaking in the celebration made Christians to go back from the commandment of Jesus Christ.

The cleric said this on Saturday at the annual national December convention of the church, which held at the church’s camp ground in Ogun State.

He said, “We don’t celebrate Christmas. It actually came from idolatrous background. That is why you don’t hear us sing what they call Christmas carol. Never! We always say it is the December retreat. We are only gathering together because it is the holiday period and love the Lord more, and rededicate ourselves more.

“When you find anybody coming in, or any leader, trying to introduce the idolatry of mystery Babylon, that they call Christmas and you want to bring all the Christmas carol saying that is the day that Jesus was born, and you don’t find that in the Acts of the Apostles or in the early church, then you don’t find that in the church either. If you don’t know that before, now you know.”

He warned that any of the church’s leaders that tried to introduce the “idolatry of Christmas” into any section of the church would be sanctioned, while also encouraging other believers in Christ to jettison the celebration as part of their sacrifice to perfection.
